OWNERS CHASE AFTER DOG-STOP IN THEIR TRACKS WHEN THEY SEE THE PROBLEM…

Dogs have proven time and time again that they are truly heroes. But this story definitely takes the lead when it comes to adorable rescue stories.

On Friday morning, Peanut, an adorable little pup, began going crazy for absolutely no reason, or so her owners thought.

“She was running up and down the stairs, barking and yelping. She then went and got my husband, who was in the garage working on some projects, and alerted him that she wanted to go outside. He said he could hear her running around upstairs but didn’t understand why,” said Peanut’s owner on Facebook.

After he finally let her outside, Peanut went sprinting for the fields, which surrounded the couple’s house. Peanut’s father began chasing after her, not wanting her to go too far. But it wasn’t long till Peanut came to a stop.

When he finally caught up to her, he saw that Peanut had stopped right in front of a small girl, with no clothes on, and she was curled up in a ball, shivering from the cold. He was left in pure shock.

He scooped the little girl up, wrapping her in his sweatshirt, and carried her back to the house. As he arrived, he immediately called 911, letting them know of what he found.

By the time police and an ambulance arrived, the girl was able to say one word, “doggie.”

The little girl and her sister were taken into custody by the Child Protective Services, after they deemed their home was ‘unsafe and unsanitary.’

This little pup is truly a hero for alerting her owners that something wrong has happened. She ended up saving two lives, and has now saved them from any more trauma.

We are so proud of Peanut and all she did for this little girl! If you are too, SHARE this post!

Service Dog Slammed by Truck, Veteran Watches Fragile Body Fade Before His Eyes

Nov. 22, 2016, started out as just another day for retired Navy Seal John Brophy. He and his dog, a retired service animal named Maggie, were visiting a friend in the Las Olas Isles neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

John and Maggie were regular visitors to the area, familiar sights to those living in the neighborhood. It was no surprise when John’s friend took Maggie for a walk.

But that sedate stroll soon ended with a shock. As Maggie rounded a bush and walked out into the road, a truck struck her.

Brophy came running. With the help of his friend, who happened to be an emergency-room nurse, he bundled Maggie into his vehicle and began to drive.

Unsure where to take his beloved pet, he frantically called a friend who urged him to go to Lauderdale Veterinary Specialists, a 24-hour emergency center. At the time, though, he wasn’t sure Maggie would make it.

“Her tongue was just kind of hanging out, her eyes were rolling back,” Brophy told The Sun-Sentinel. “I definitely thought I was losing her.”

Maggie made it, but the doctors at Lauderdale Veterinary Specialists made a terrible discovery during their examination. Not only was she in hypovolemic shock, she had sustained severe damage to her left hind leg.

The leg injured would prove particularly problematic for Maggie. In addition to multiple fractures, one section was so badly pulverized that the bones didn’t even show up on an x-ray.

The veterinarians did the only thing they could. After Maggie was stabilized, they amputated the limb.

Many dogs can function fairly well with only three legs, but Dr. Jennifer Bibevski of Lauderdale Veterinary Services expressed concern that Maggie could eventually develop hip trouble. That was when they took the impressive step of fitting Maggie with her own special prosthesis.

Other than a small limp, Maggie achieved full mobility with her new leg. However, at a cost of $20,000, it wasn’t what anyone would call cheap.

Family and friends chipped in to help Maggie and Brophy. Lauderdale Veterinary Services itself covered the balance of the bill through its The Pet’s Tree of Hope fund, a special provision for pet owners unable to fully pay for an animal’s treatment.

For Brophy, it seemed almost miraculous. “I couldn’t be more thankful for the help, love and support that I have received since the accident,” he told WSVN.

“That’s what we’re here for,” Dr. Bibevski said. “Anything that we can do to help the pets and their owners is what makes our day successful.”

Cops Add ‘In God We Trust’ to Back of Cruisers, Thanks to One Woman.

“In God We Trust” has long been displayed on U.S. currency. It sits above the image of president Abraham Lincoln on the one-cent coin and on the back of paper bills.

The first recorded suggestion of incorporating the phrase was from a Pennsylvania minister named Reverend M.R. Watkinson. In 1861, he asked Secretary of the Treasury Salmon P. Chase to recognize God on U.S. coins.

“This would make a beautiful coin, to which no possible citizen could object,” the minister wrote. Eventually, the words “In God We Trust” appeared on U.S. coins

In 1956, Congress passed a joint resolution declaring “In God We Trust” the national motto of the U.S. And in 1957, the motto made its first appearance on paper currency.

Some have advocated spreading the motto further. It has been added to government vehicles and license plates in multiple states.

But just as some are delighted to see the motto as a reminder of what they believe needs to be the foundation of their communities, others are equally opposed to it. Recently, a Virginia business owner added the motto to the bumper of police vehicles in her home town, and the reaction suggests that the controversy is likely to stay.

Tina Hazelwood of Hopewell, Virginia, is the owner of Graceful Touch Creations. The company’s website shows examples of T-shirts with decals and blends its products with its devotion to Christian faith, including a quote from the Bible and information on missionary work.

Last year, Hazelwood added the motto “In God We Trust” to sheriffs’ cars in Dinwiddie County, Virginia, and now she has added more of the decals to cars for the Hopewell Sheriff’s Office in her home town of Hopewell. She did it all free of charge.

“It’s such a big deal to me, the cost is really not an issue,” Hazelwood told WTVR. “For me this is a way to make others aware of God and what he does.”

After adding the decals to vehicles last year, Hazelwood got some support from residents. “I absolutely LOVE the fact that they did this!!” one woman wrote on Facebook.

Others were not so happy. “Meaningless words,” one man wrote on Facebook.

The two opinions reflect the debate happening in towns around the U.S. where the motto has been displayed in similar ways. Critics say the use of the motto on government-owned cars violates the constitution.

Groups such as the Freedom from Religion Foundation have opposed the use of the motto, with USA Today reporting the group has said the motto has “no place on government-owned cars.” The Original Motto Project wants to replace “In God We Trust” with “E Pluribus Unum,” which means “Out of many, one.”

Meanwhile, Hazelwood and others want the motto spread far and wide. They seem to agree with Reverend Watkinson’s original appeal: This is an idea “…to which no possible citizen could object.”

Sailor Kneels in Front of Gate and Grabs Age 5 Daughter’s Hand. But Knows Why She Won’t Stop Crying

Isabelle’s father was stationed on the HMS Ocean, the U.K. Royal navy’s largest operational ship. It serves as a helicopter carrier and amphibious assault ship and has been away in the Gulf.

“I’m very proud because it’s his first deployment as a petty officer,” Isabelle’s mom, Luisa Jefferey said about her husband Petty Officer Adam Jeffrey. He had been deployed for six months.

Little Isabelle was quickly spotted and picked up by her dad. She looked like she would never let go.

She had waited patiently with her mom and younger brother Dominic. The trio arrived early in the morning for Jeffrey’s arrival and held up a homemade sign that said “Welcome home Daddy.”

The Jeffrey family was among thousands of people waiting to greet sailor friends and relatives at the Devonport Naval Base in Plymouth, U.K. The pier quickly became the scene of many hugs, kisses, and happy reunions.

I’m relieved for my children that their dad is home. Now he can watch them grow up,” Jeffery said among hundreds of other teary-eyed wives.

Despite the cold weather, the turn out was massive. Many families brought signs and banners, and waved excitedly as the ship came into view.

Some families traveled from all over to the U.K. for the exciting event. A woman named Liz told The Plymouth Herald that she had “traveled all the way from Enniskillen in Northern Ireland to meet her son, Lieutenant David Doherty.”

Meanwhile, a Royal Marine Band played in the background to keep the crowd entertained, but there was little need to keep them excited. Hopefully, there will be many happy days ahead for these reunited families!

Jock Saved Helpless “Nerd” From Being Bullied, 4 Years Later He Learned The Heartwrenching Truth.

This incredible story has been circulating the internet for a while. It’s message is poignant… a lesson to us all.

The premise: a high school athlete saved a small boy with glasses from bullying. Many considered him a nerd, but this jock stood up for him. It wasn’t until four years after they met, and became dear friends, that he learned the true extent of his act of kindness’ aftermath. Read below.

The story:

One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. It looked like he was carrying all of his books.

I thought to myself, “Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd.”

I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friend the next afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.

As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about 10 feet from him.

He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him and as he crawled around looking for his glasses, I saw a tear in his eye.

As I handed him his glasses, I said, “Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives.” He looked at me and said, “Hey thanks!” There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude.

I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now. I had never hung out with a private school kid before.

His name was Kyle. We talked all the way home, and I carried his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play football on Saturday with me and my friends. He said yes. We hung all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him. And my friends thought the same of him.

Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said, “Damn boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday!” He just laughed and handed me half the books. Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends. When we were seniors, we began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown, and I was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem. He was going to be a doctor, and I was going to study business on a football scholarship. Kyle was valedictorian of our class.

I teased him all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn’t me having to get up there and speak.

On graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than me and all the girls loved him! Boy, sometimes I was jealous.

Today was one of those days. I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, “Hey, big guy, you’ll be great!” He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled. “Thanks,” he said.2

As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began.

“Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach … but mostly your friends. I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a story.”

I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn’t have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home.

He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. “Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable.” I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment.

I saw his mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile. Not until that moment did I realize its depth.

Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person’s life.

2 Boys Point At Disabled Son In Chick-fil-A, But Mom Never Expects Them To Ask About Leg Braces

Parents of special needs children can understandably be very sensitive to the stares strangers give their kids. Whispers about them make these moms and dads feel sad: the little boys and girls don’t deserve scrutiny, but sometimes people can’t help but ogle at their disabilities.

Leah Carroll is a mom who is no stranger to these stares and whispers. Her son, Malachi, is disabled and uses braces and a wheelchair. He looks different from others his age, and two boys at a Chick-fil-A noticed this when they saw him. The young boys couldn’t help their behavior, and their mother had to remind them that it wasn’t nice.

Then, she pulled an unexpected move that brought Leah to tears: she brought her sons to meet Malachi and introduce themselves. Her compassion was not lost on the mother, who posted about the experience on Facebook.

You can read her touching words in the post below.

To the mom of three at Chick-fil-A: I sensed your panic when your 5-year-old son pointed at my son in his wheelchair and shouted “Mom, look at THAT boy!”

You leaned forward and quietly told him and his 3-year-old brother that we don’t say things like that and they shouldn’t point or stare. But as in most cases, these suggestions are futile with young, curious minds and they continued to stare and loudly ask questions about my son’s differences. When you realized your whispers weren’t working, I saw the panic disappear and you took a deep breath and took a step of courage.

You brought your boys over to Malachi and said “I bet he would like to know your names!” As they said their names, my little Malachi started grinning from ear to ear and jabbering back to them.

The joy on his face brought tears to my eyes — he loves kids his age, but so many are fearful to come and speak to him. Your boys continued to ask questions about his foot braces, his wheelchair, why his legs don’t work, why he holds his mouth open like that. You took the time to educate your sons in that moment and help them understand that different is okay. Different is not something to fear. And that it was okay to ask questions!

Thank you for giving my son a chance to meet your kids. Thank you for being the type of mom who educates your children instead of frantically trying to silence them. Special needs moms have to develop tough skin — we get used to stares, comments, and whispers. Please know it takes a lot to offend us, particularly when the comments are coming from young children.

Give your kids the same grace we give them and use the opportunity to teach them about differences. So Chick-fil-A mom, thank you for raising your children to embrace children like Malachi. And thank you for giving my son something to smile about.

Please SHARE if you know that every child is beautiful no matter how different he or she is!

7-YEAR-OLD GIRL TORMENTED FOR A YEAR BY A BULLY, THEN BIKERS …

She’s just 7-years-old and she has been tormented by an 11-year-old boy that has bullied her for more than a year. The bullying has been so severe that she is afraid to go outside to play. At one point the boy beat her up so badly that she had to go to the hospital.

“She was pushing her bike home and the bully had pushed her to the ground, had kicked her and had punched her in her face,” her mom, Christine said. While the boy’s mother denies the allegations, the young man was charged with assault.
So Ashely Wastakiewicz stayed cooped up in her home.

Ashley’s mom created an anti-bullying Facebook page called “Justice for Ashley” to rally support for her. But you can bet that Christine never expected that these heroes would rally around them! Dozens of members of a local motorcycle club showed up in Ashley’s front yard to show their support and maybe show a little bit of intimidation to the neighbor bully!

“We got word from other brothers at other clubs and we all met,” local biker James Dingmon, a member of American Veterans Motorcycle Club of Jackson, said. “I don’t believe in bullying. Nobody should be bullied. We wanted a show of force, that she is loved and she’s got people out here that care for her.”

Another biker, John R. Spencer, wrote on the Facebook page after showing up for Ashley, “We made a difference tonight and helped in the widespread fight against bullying, particularly with a very serious case with a wonderful little 7 year old girl named Ashley, whom has (had) a terrible bully in her neighborhood for quite some time now and has been terrified to play outside her own home after being sent to the E.R. and continuously threatened and hurt.”

The bikers walked down the street with Ashley while she rode her scooter. They even paid the bully neighbor a visit. Ashley yelled from the street with pride, “I’m not scared anymore!”

The bikers promised to stay in contact with Ashley and her family. They hope that word will spread and violent and destructive bullying will come to an end. As you watch the video below, you can feel the smile on Ashley’s face.

NY NBA Star Gives US Soldiers The FINGER, Refuses To Eat With Them While Training At Military Camp

What kind of asshat does this? Joakim Noah was training at West Point and then refused to eat with the rest of the New York Knicks with the cadets because he’s anti-war. Really? That’s about as rude as it gets. Those cadets are not the ones instigating war and if war comes, they will willingly serve to protect our country. You know, the one that makes it possible for this moron to earn $72 million over the next four years. What a jerk.

I’m really getting sick to death of all these athletes taking their supposed political stances against the heroes of our country. These teams could step in and put a stop to this. Noah had the full support of his coach when he pulled this stunt. All of them are going to wind up getting boycotted and it serves them right. Saying that he “absolutely” understood Noah’s point of view, Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek explained:

“Jo’s done, in all his stuff that he does against gun violence and all that, he just didn’t feel comfortable, so that’s plenty fine with us.”

Do tell. Well, then the Knicks shouldn’t mind if their fans and the rest of America take a hike and take their money with them.

From the New York Daily News:

Joakim Noah violated one of the basic rules of guest etiquette this week by boycotting a team dinner with West Point cadets that featured a speech from a retired Army Colonel.

As we all know, it’s never polite to insult your host.

Noah is anti-war, which is great. Most right minded adults oppose war and that would include the young men and women at the U.S. Military Academy. You can still be a conscientious objector while earning $72 million over the next four years and still spend quality time with the people who are dedicated to serving and protecting the country.

This could not have gone over well at the NBA league office where almost one year ago to the day Adam Silver announced that Gen. Martin Dempsey, the recently retired chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was appointed as a special adviser to the NBA Commissioner.

For the last several years, Knicks players — who hold their training camp at West Point — have traditionally dined with cadets, listening to speeches from military officers and signing autographs. If you are in someone’s house, you honor them. Someone might want to tell this Noah idiot that.

It figures this guy is a big fan of Barack Obama. Why am I not surprised? Noah’s stance has not prevented him from spending time with President Obama. In 2011, during Obama’s re-election campaign, Noah even joined several of his fellow NBA players at a fundraiser for the incumbent president. So, he’s a Marxist as well as anti-war. He’s the whole liberal package.

Noah also applauded his fellow athletes who “are taking a stand,” saying that “this country’s out of control” and “there are things that need to be fixed.” Here’s a thought… if he can’t honor those at West Point, he should take his sorry ass and leave. He won’t be missed and at least one thing will be ‘fixed’.

DAUGHTER HAS ACCIDENT AT SCHOOL, FATHER COMES TO PICK HER UP LIKE THIS…WOW!

When you a little kid, accidents happen. Usually it’s no big deal. But for 5 year old Valerie Sowards, it was a big deal. She had wet herself at school, and was crying and just wanted to go home.

Her dad, Ben, said that that when he received a call from his teacher, his heart “kind of just broke.”

So before leaving to go pick up his daughter, 1 of 11 children, he splashed water on the front of his pants, and then was off to get her from school.
1

When he arrived at the school, he asked for her backpack to cover up his “accident.” She looked up at him with the biggest smile, and thought the whole thing was hilarious. It made her feel better about her own accident.

Valerie’s older sister Lucinda, the oldest of the bunch, posted about what her father had done on Twitter, and the post went viral…understandably!2

Naturally, everyone thought this was the best thing ever, saying things like, “This is absolutely fantastic. Dad grade: A+.” or “cutest thing ever.”

We definitely agree! This is one of the sweetest things I have ever heard a dad do! But apparently, this isn’t the first time he has done something crazy to make his children feel better. A few years ago, Lucinda had gotten black eye from ice-skating. Her father quickly went into action and FaceTimed her, with a vividly painted back eye to match hers.3

Talk about parent goals! This dad is so amazing, and these children must be some of the luckiest children on the planet to have a dad as amazing as he is!

If you think what this dad did for his daughter is amazing, and put a smile on your face, SHARE this post!

Man is crying at gas pump. When woman notices wife hiding face in car, she goes straight to her trunk

God presents himself in the most random of times and Nicole Heintz learned that firsthand when she stopped to get gas on a particularly chilly winter morning. Nicole shared what happened next on the Love What Matters Facebook page.

“SO I WAS JUST ON MY WAY TO WORK AND I HAD TO STOP FOR GAS SO I ALLOWED MYSELF SOME EXTRA TIME TO GET TO WORK. WHEN I PULLED UP TO THE PUMP I SHUT MY CAR OFF AND SAW THIS MIDDLE AGED MAN CRYING LOOKING AT THE GAS PUMP. I BEGAN TO WONDER WHAT HAPPENED WITH THIS MAN AND AS I GOT OUT OF MY CAR AND LOOKED AT HIM MY HEART FELT LIKE IT STOPPED.
IN APPLE VALLEY, MINNESOTA IT IS 10 DEGREES AND FREEZING COLD WITH THE WIND. THIS MAN WAS WEARING FLIP FLOPS WITH SOCKS COVERED IN HOLES. I LOOK AT HIS CAR AND SEE HIS WIFE IN THE FRONT SEAT COVERING HER FACE IN HER HANDS AND THE TWO TEENAGE GIRLS BOTH CUDDLING UNDER A BLANKET IN THE BACK SEAT.”
Something told Nicole that this family needed help. She knew that she couldn’t just ignore their desperate situation!

It Wasn’t Much But It Meant Something Big

She didn’t want to pry, but Nicole felt compelled to intervene after seeing everyone in the family in such an unhappy state.

“I WENT UP TO THE MAN AND SAID ‘SIR IS SOMETHING THE MATTER?’ HE LOOKED AT ME AND I COULD TELL HE WAS ON THE VERGE OF GIVING UP BECAUSE HE DIDN’T EVEN TRY TO CONCEAL HIS TEARS WHEN HE SAID ‘I CAN’T EVEN PROVIDE FOR MY FAMILY.’
WITHOUT EVEN THINKING I PUT MY CARD IN HIS MACHINE AND TOLD HIM JESUS CHRIST THE SON OF GOD DIED TO PROVIDE FOR YOU. FILL UP. SOMETHING, SOMETHING CAME ALIVE IN HIM. HE WAS IN SHOCK AND IT WAS LIKE HE FORGOT HOW TO PUMP GAS.
IN THAT SAME MOMENT HIS WIFE GOT OUT OF HER CAR, SHE ASKED HER HUSBAND WHAT WAS GOING ON AND HE TOLD HER I JUST PAYED FOR THEIR GAS SHE STARTED TO CRY AND CAME AROUND THE CORNER TO SHAKE MY HAND WHEN I SAW HER PANTS DIRTY AND TORN. I ASKED HER TO COME TO MY CAR.
THE AIRPORT LOST SOME OF MY LUGGAGE ON MY WAY TO MINNESOTA FROM CALIFORNIA AND I HAD TO CLEAN OUT MY CLOSET TO FIND STUFF TO WEAR AND GET RID OF A LOT OF STUFF ALL OF THAT STUFF THAT I HAD YET TO GIVE AWAY WAS SITTING IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR AND IN THE TRUNK. I OPENED UP MY CAR AND TOLD THE LADY TO TAKE WHAT SHE WANTED.”

The Kindness Didn’t End There

Without another word, the woman ran back to her van. Nicole said she was scared that she had offended her in some way, but she had done the opposite!

“A MOMENT LATER SHE AND HER TWO GIRLS WERE DIGGING THROUGH THOSE CLOTHES LAYERING MY SWEATSHIRTS AND SHIRTS AND SWEATPANTS OVER THE WORN OUT CLOTHES THEY HAD BEEN WEARING.
SOON THE FATHER HAD FINISHED PUMPING THE GAS AND CAME OVER. THIS ATTRACTED A LITTLE CROWD AT THE GAS STATION. SOME OLDER MAN GAVE THE FAMILY A GIFT CARD AND ANOTHER MIDDLE-AGED MAN GAVE AWAY HIS JACKET TO THE FATHER. NEVER IN MY LIFE DID I THINK I WOULD SEE THIS KIND OF THING HAPPEN AT A GAS STATION WITH A HANDFUL OF COMPLETE STRANGERS.
BUT IT GIVES ME HOPE. THAT THE LOVE OF GOD CAN BE SO CONTAGIOUS. THAT WE ARE NOT ALONE IN BEING THE CHANGE WE WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD. THAT GOD’S LOVE IS GREATER THAN ANYTHING AND WE GET TO BE A PART OF THAT LOVE CHANGING LIVES. AND HE ALWAYS PROVIDES!”
Hopefully the donations of those at the gas station can be enough to help them begin a better life. It may not be much in the grand scheme of things, but their gifts represent hope and the love of God!

Following God’s Word

Nicole was able to see the powerful influence of God’s will that morning at the gas station. He was the guiding force behind her generous actions, and those of the strangers who also gave their belongings!

Give Back

Nicole and the people at the gas station came together to help a family when they had nothing to their name. We should use their selfless actions as inspiration in our own lives and strive do the same when given a chance from God!
